Beijing Objects to Japan’s Claims in New Defence Blueprint

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Chen issued a stern rebuttal to Japan’s newly released defence white paper for 2026, labeling the document as a repeat of unfounded allegations towards China. The statement warned that the paper inflates the notion of a "Chinese threat," steps into the Taiwan question and encroaches on China’s internal affairs.

He underscored that China’s military policy remains wholly defensive, its actions are lawful, and that Taiwan is an indelible component of China’s sovereign territory, leaving Japan no room for interference.
