BJP Leader Acknowledges Ambassador’s Role in Bilateral Growth

At the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov sat down with party president Nitin Naveen on September 1 to discuss ways to further cement India‑Russia relations.

Vijay Chautrawale, who handles the party's foreign affairs, noted that the conversation revolved around the durable friendship between India and Russia, a bond that has withstood the test of time. Naveen highlighted the trust and mutual respect that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin share, emphasizing that their regular high‑level talks continuously propel the partnership forward.

The pair also examined outcomes from the SCO summit in Bishkek, where Modi and Putin met a day earlier. Naveen expressed hope that the relationship will keep strengthening, especially with the BRICS summit slated to be hosted by India later this year.

Both leaders identified people‑to‑people interaction as a sustainable pillar of bilateral ties. Ambassador Alipov spoke about the expanding prospects for Indian professionals in Russia, while Naveen described the BJP's comprehensive organisational network that reaches deep into local communities.

Alipov congratulated the BJP on its recent victories in the states of Assam and West Bengal, admiring the party's robust grassroots machinery. He also praised Prime Minister Modi’s "Mann Ki Baat" initiative as an innovative method of maintaining direct contact with citizens across the nation.

Looking forward, the two sides marked 2027 as the 80th anniversary of diplomatic relations, viewing it as a critical juncture to deepen cooperation in cultural, educational, and citizen‑level engagements.
