Multiple attacks by Baloch insurgent groups, including the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), have resulted in significant casualties among Pakistani military personnel. The Balochistan Post reported that at least 27 soldiers were killed in these attacks. The BLA claimed responsibility for a suicide attack on a military transport bus in Kalat, where 27 military personnel were reportedly killed and several injured. BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch stated that while civilians, including qawwali performers, were present on the bus, they were not the intended targets. The BLF reported an IED explosion in Kalat that killed four soldiers and an ambush in Awaran that resulted in the deaths of six, including Major Syed Rab Nawaz Tariq. The BLF also reported a separate operation where a military unit was ambushed. The attacks highlight the ongoing militant violence and the challenge to Islamabad’s claims of having subdued the rebellion in Balochistan.
