A rescue operation is ongoing Sunday to save approximately one thousand people stranded on the Tibetan side of Mount Everest due to a blizzard. The area, situated at an altitude exceeding 4,900 meters, has experienced blocked routes due to heavy snowfall. Hundreds of local villagers and rescue teams have been deployed to clear the paths.
Reports indicate that some tourists have already been rescued. The snowfall began on Friday evening and intensified in the eastern part of Mount Everest in Tibet, a popular area among mountaineers. Mount Everest is the world’s highest peak, with an elevation of over 8,849 meters, and is known as Mount Qomolangma in China.
