At the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit hosted by China, a series of significant initiatives were announced, set to benefit all member states. These plans, detailed in a statement released by China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stem from President Xi Jinping’s address at the 25th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO. President Jinping highlighted China’s commitment to practical actions for the SCO’s development. China intends to implement 100 “small and beautiful” livelihood projects across member states. The initiatives include a RMB 2 billion yuan grant this year and an additional RMB 10 billion yuan loan to SCO Interbank Consortium member banks over the next three years. Furthermore, China will double the number of SCO-specific scholarships and launch an innovative PhD program to train talent in academic and scientific fields. In the next five years, 10 Luban Workshops will be established, alongside 10,000 human resource training opportunities. Jinping emphasized the organization’s commitment to sustained development, quoting a Chinese proverb to underscore the importance of overcoming obstacles. Ambassador Xu Feihong also shared details of these initiatives on social media.
