Important remarks of the Supreme Court; ‘Qazi and Sharia court are not recognized under Indian law’, cannot put pressure to obey the order
During the Congress -led UPA government, the case of the Commonwealth scam was very much discussed. There were many allegations and counter-allegations in this context, in which the CBI claimed that the Swiss company suffered a loss of about Rs 90 crore due to improper contract. As a result, Kalmadi was arrested on 24 April 2022, although he later got bail from the Delhi High Court.
On Monday, Special Judge of Rousse Avenue Court Sanjeev Aggarwal said during the hearing that since the commencement of the investigation, the prosecution has failed to prove the charges under section 3 of the PMLA. Despite the intensive investigation of the ED, it is not appropriate to pursue the case due to no concrete evidence. In this situation, the court accepted the ED’s closure report. The judge also mentioned that the ED had started an investigation into the money laundering case, while the CBI had already closed its case.

What was the whole matter?
The ED started the investigation of money laundering on the basis of the case registered by the CBI. According to the CBI, two important contracts related to the Commonwealth Games, Games Workforce Services (GWS) and Game Planning, Project and Risk Management Services (GPPRMS), the accused deliberately took unfair benefits to the Union of EKS and Ernst & Young, which caused a loss of Rs 30 crore to the Union of EKS and Ernst & Young, which caused a loss of Rs 30 crore to OC, CWG. However, the CBI submitted a closure report in January 2014, stating that no concrete evidence was found during the investigation and the allegations made in the FIR could not be proved.
Congress asked to apologize
Congress leader Pawan Kheda said that today the ED has presented a closure report in the so -called Commonwealth Games (CWG) scam. For years, the BJP’s Ecosystem resorted to lies to discredit the Congress through 2G, CWG, Robert Vadra and coal matters. Now the truth has come out firmly, while their lies have been destroyed. These cases were never for justice, but were a conspiracy to divert attention from political harassment and failures. The decline of these fabricated cases is not only a legal victory, but a moral and political charge on the politics of false discussion of the BJP. The truth does not shout, but appears with peace and strength. Will the Prime Minister now apologize to the country? Will Arvind Kejriwal apologize to the people of Delhi?
