Credit Facility Linked to Cyclone Ditrav Reconstruction Package

The $350 million line of credit signed in Colombo is a component of the broader $450 million reconstruction package India offered following Cyclone Ditrav’s impact on Sri Lanka. The credit will be disbursed in Indian rupees and is earmarked for rebuilding damaged roads, rail links, bridges, and homes, as well as for bolstering health, education, and agricultural sectors. Both governments emphasized that the facility will also address procurement needs arising from the disaster and enhance future disaster‑response capabilities. The agreement underscores the deepening economic ties and shared commitment to resilient development between the two neighbours.
