A significant reshuffle within the British government has followed the resignation of Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner. Prime Minister Keir Starmer has undertaken extensive changes to the cabinet, assigning new roles to several senior figures.
Yvette Cooper has been named the new Foreign Minister, taking over from David Lammy. Lammy now assumes the positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister.
In addition, Shabana Mahmood, previously the Justice Minister, has been appointed Home Minister. This role, which oversees key issues such as illegal migration, was formerly held by Yvette Cooper.
