A Delta Airlines flight en route to Europe from Salt Lake City was forced to make an emergency landing after encountering significant turbulence mid-air. The aircraft, carrying 275 passengers and 13 crew members, was diverted to Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport following the incident. The flight, DL56, took off from Salt Lake City at 4:30 p.m. local time. Reports indicate that the plane experienced a sudden drop of 1,000 feet, prompting the emergency landing around 7:45 p.m. local time. Twenty-five individuals on board were transported to local hospitals for evaluation and treatment. Passengers described the turbulence as intense, with initial occurrences causing flight attendants to lose their balance. Data from Flightradar24 revealed a drop from over 38,000 feet to 35,775 feet within approximately 90 seconds. The airline expressed gratitude for the support of emergency responders.
