Dengue Cases Surge to Over 26,000 in First 20 Days of September

The latest health bulletin reveals that Bangladesh recorded 26,126 dengue cases in the first twenty days of September, up from 20,536 infections in August. The disease, transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes, has claimed 87 lives this month, raising the annual death count to 184. Since January, the country has confirmed 61,972 dengue infections, with 1,593 new cases reported in the most recent 24‑hour window. A three‑month anti‑dengue operation began earlier this month, yet the virus continues to circulate in all 64 districts, overwhelming hospitals and causing daily deaths despite being largely preventable.
