At a roundtable in The Hague, CEOs of major Dutch firms told Prime Minister Narendra Modi they plan to increase investments in India. The meeting covered semiconductors, shipping, logistics, green energy, and high-value manufacturing, with participants noting India’s rapid transformation under Modi’s leadership. Royal Vopak’s Dick Richelle pointed to his company’s decade-long operations and said improved policies made expansion attractive. VNO-NCW’s Koen van Oosterom praised Modi for understanding Dutch business needs and fostering global partnerships. APM Terminals’ Keith Svendsen welcomed the upcoming India-EU trade pact, saying it would boost ports, shipbuilding, and skill development. STMicroelectronics’ Cristophe Fouquet tied the new Tata Electronics alliance to India’s push for semiconductor self-reliance. Bouwdivisie’s Boudewijn Siemens echoed Modi’s view that the best days lie ahead, while Rotterdam Port’s CEO highlighted fresh infrastructure spending as a game-changer for trade.
