Ebola Alert Prompts Thailand to Ramp Up Airport Health Checks

In response to the World Health Organization’s declaration of an Ebola-related international public health emergency in parts of Africa, Thailand has introduced stricter screening and monitoring procedures at all entry points. The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand is working closely with the Health Ministry and airlines to standardize health protocols across the aviation sector. The recent designation of Congo and Uganda as dangerous infectious disease zones has led to mandatory health screenings for passengers arriving from or traveling to these regions. Airlines have been instructed to educate travelers about symptoms, perform departure screenings, and share seating and contact details with quarantine officials for effective contact tracing.
