Egypt‑India Defense Ties Highlighted by Sarang Team's Participation

A meeting between Indian Ambassador Suresh K. Reddy and senior Egyptian military officials was held in Cairo as the Indian Air Force Sarang display team prepared for the Al‑Alamein Air Show.

Present were General Staff Ahmed Saleh, Ground Defence Units commander Brigadier Staff Mohammed Azheldin, and Colonel Gamal Atef, commander of the 545 Air Wing. Their joint presence signaled the expanding defence relationship between the two nations.

Sarang’s performances, using the indigenously built Dhruv helicopters, are renowned for their precise, tightly‑coordinated aerobatics. The team’s five‑helicopter formation is the only one of its kind worldwide.

The event serves not only as a showcase of Indian aviation capability but also as a venue for high‑level military exchange, reinforcing mutual trust and opening avenues for future joint projects.
