Elon Musk, the billionaire, has removed a tweet that mentioned U.S. President Donald Trump’s name in connection with the Epstein files. The deletion follows a heated exchange between Trump and Musk, sparked by Musk’s assertion that the Epstein files were withheld from public release, possibly due to Trump’s involvement.
Musk had previously resigned from his role as a special government employee within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), citing a desire to concentrate on his business ventures. The disagreement reportedly stems from Trump’s stance on a ‘Big Beautiful Bill.’
Musk’s initial tweet on X stated, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Following the post, Musk deleted the tweet.
Later, Musk hinted at a possible reconciliation when responding to American Fund Manager Bill Ackman. Ackman had posted, “I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart.” Musk responded, ” You’s are not wrong.”
Musk’s reaction occurred at a critical juncture concerning Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill,’ which encompasses substantial tax cuts and increased military spending. The two engaged in a public war of words on social media, trading accusations and criticisms. The online conflict reached its peak when Musk made serious allegations regarding Trump’s association with Jeffrey Epstein, a move that intensified their personal disagreement. This occurred just days after Musk’s departure from his position within the Department of Government Efficiency.
US Vice President JD Vance has expressed support for President Trump amidst the public discord. Vance stated on X, “President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I’m proud to stand beside him.”
