In a move that secures FIFA’s broadcast future in the world’s largest football market, China Media Group has renewed its media-rights agreement for the next two men’s and two women’s World Cups. The multi-year deal, reached on 15 May, covers the 2026, 2030 men’s tournaments and the 2027, 2031 women’s events. CMG will hold all terrestrial, satellite, online and mobile rights across mainland China and will be allowed to sub-license selected content. The 2026 World Cup, staged across three North American nations, will expand to 48 teams and 104 matches. CMG pledged to leverage its vast production resources to offer Chinese viewers state-of-the-art coverage. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström highlighted the deep football enthusiasm in China and expressed confidence that the renewed partnership will bring every match to fans nationwide.
