Five‑year plan aims to double bilateral trade, launch business and investment forums

Prime Minister Modi and his Belgian counterpart outlined an ambitious five‑year agenda intended to double the value of India‑Belgium trade. The roadmap includes the creation of a dedicated business forum that will bring together industry leaders from both nations, as well as an investment forum to attract Belgian capital into Indian emerging sectors.

The agreement also calls for a consular dialogue to streamline visa processes and enhance people‑to‑people contacts. Both countries expect the new mechanisms to accelerate growth in areas such as renewable energy, technology transfer, and academic exchange.

Senior officials, including National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Principal Secretary PK Mishra and senior diplomats from the Ministry of External Affairs, were present to provide logistical support and ensure the implementation framework is robust.
