Foreign Minister meets rescued Tamil Nadu pilgrims en route to Nepal

During a press briefing in New Delhi, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar welcomed a group of 21 Tamil Nadu tourists who had been rescued from flood‑stricken areas of Nepal. The pilgrims had returned to Delhi via Kathmandu after being airlifted to safety.

The minister expressed deep emotion after hearing their accounts and thanked the Nepali army and government for the swift evacuation. He also praised the Indian Embassy in Nepal for facilitating the smooth repatriation of the Indian citizens.

The rescued travelers were part of several organized tours heading to the Kailash‑Manasarovar pilgrimage. Their safe return highlights the ongoing cross‑border cooperation in rescue operations and the broader humanitarian assistance being extended by India to Nepal.
