Forensic and Tunnel Rescue Teams Operate in Kathmandu Amid Crisis

India's forensic specialists have set up two laboratories in Kathmandu, where they are processing approximately 1,200 DNA samples to identify victims of the floods. Simultaneously, a dedicated tunnel‑rescue unit is working on clearing blocked passages and stabilising underground structures to facilitate safe evacuation.

Both teams operate around the clock, collaborating closely with Nepalese officials to locate missing persons and restore critical infrastructure. The forensic effort aims to provide closure to families while the tunnel team focuses on preventing further collapses in the region's mountainous terrain.
