A fierce gun battle in Balochistan’s Barkhan district resulted in the deaths of four Baloch fighters. The clash, which occurred in the Koh-e-Jandar area of Rakni tehsil on Friday, involved a ‘state-backed’ armed group and lasted for several hours. Residents reported the use of heavy weaponry during the confrontation. The deceased have been identified as Mustafa Noor, Samiullah, Rasaan Qadir, and Shahzaib. Their bodies were taken to a Rakni hospital. Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident. Separately, heavy fighting was reported in Mastung district’s Spilinji area during a Pakistani military operation. Large troop contingents entered the mountainous region, leading to intense gunfire and explosions. Casualties were reported on both sides, but the exact number remains unknown. No Baloch armed group has claimed responsibility for the Spilinji clashes. These events highlight the ongoing conflict in Balochistan between nationalist groups and state forces.
