Gulf Nations Mull Ban on Large Animal Sacrifice: Giriraj

In a detailed statement from Patna, Union Minister Giriraj Singh highlighted reports that several Gulf countries are considering curbs on sacrificing big animals such as cows and camels. Singh claimed the Quran contains no reference to cow sacrifice and described Arab Muslims as “true believers” unlike converts in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. He accused domestic political outfits of exploiting the cow issue to hurt Hindu sentiments and demanded rigorous enforcement of anti-slaughter laws across Bihar. The minister singled out Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal chief ministers for thanks after they banned street-side cattle slaughter. Turning to national politics, Singh rubbished Rahul Gandhi’s prediction of an early NDA collapse, challenging the Congress leader to forecast his own prospects first. He further charged that Gandhi’s recent statements were designed to deflect scrutiny over alleged financial disclosures involving large incomes and overseas trips. Singh reiterated that foreign visits by Prime Minister Modi are strictly tied to securing oil, gas, semiconductor and defence deals, and insisted anyone facing corruption allegations must respond openly to both citizens and investigating agencies.
