Both the Indian and Pakistani regions of Punjab are grappling with devastating floods. In Pakistan’s Punjab, the recent floods have displaced 3.7 million people within the last two weeks, prompting the government and various organizations to undertake rescue and aid operations. Among these groups is Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a radical Islamic organization considered a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba. The group, linked to the 2008 Mumbai attacks and headed by India’s most wanted Hafiz Saeed, claims to have deployed 2,000 members for flood relief in the northwestern and Punjab provinces.
