Haiti's capital outskirts see targeted killing of refugees by gunmen

Gunmen attacked a congregation of internally displaced Haitians who had taken refuge inside a church near Port-au-Prince. The assault, carried out by a notorious gang, resulted in over 50 fatalities and left several individuals wounded. The violence, which persisted into the following day, spanned multiple neighborhoods, including the municipal vicinity, Villa Street, Ward 1, and the districts of Madeleine, Farmathe 52, and Thomasin 48. Authorities have confirmed a number of missing persons and are bolstering security measures in the area, where gangs dominate large sections of the capital.
