Hamas has announced a positive response to a proposed 60-day ceasefire with Israel in Gaza. This development signals potential progress towards an agreement after months of stalled negotiations. Hamas stated its readiness to immediately enter talks regarding the implementation of the framework. The US-backed proposal had previously been accepted by Israel. According to reports, Hamas has proposed amendments. The ceasefire proposal includes the release of 10 Israeli hostages, including 8 living hostages on the first day, in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. Israel would then withdraw from parts of northern Gaza, and both sides would begin discussions on a permanent ceasefire. US President Donald Trump urged Hamas to accept the deal. The conflict has resulted in a significant loss of life and widespread destruction in Gaza.
