A disturbing incident has emerged from Kotri, Sindh, Pakistan, where a Hindu man from the Bagri community was brutally assaulted. The attack occurred solely because the man had the audacity to eat at a local eatery. The victim, identified as Daulat Bagri, went to the restaurant for lunch. The owner and others present took issue with his presence, subsequently tying him up, savagely beating him, and robbing him of 60,000 rupees. Daulat pleaded for mercy while the assailants continued their attack, fueled by his decision to eat at their establishment. A video of the assault has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage and calls for justice. Following a complaint filed by Daulat, Kotri police registered a case against seven individuals, including the restaurant owner. Despite the FIR, no arrests have been made. Prior to the case being registered, a petition was filed in the Jamshoro District and Sessions Court against the SSP and SHO Jamshoro, alleging inaction. This incident highlights the ongoing social discrimination and violence faced by Hindu minorities in Pakistan, particularly marginalized communities like the Bagri, who encounter religious inequality, social exclusion, and administrative apathy.
