Israeli airstrikes in Sanaa, Yemen’s capital, resulted in the death of Ahmed al-Rahawi, the Prime Minister of the Houthi-controlled administration. The Iranian-backed group confirmed the news on Saturday, stating that al-Rahawi and several other ministers were killed during the attack. The Houthis reported that the strike occurred while the officials were participating in a government workshop. The Israeli military stated that it had “precisely struck a Houthi terrorist regime target” in Sanaa. Al-Rahawi, who assumed the role of prime minister in August 2024, was a key figure in the Houthi-led administration.
