Kathmandu, 28 August — As waters continue to rise along Nepal's river systems, a severe humanitarian crisis is unfolding. CORUS International’s senior officer, Tamara Demuria, highlighted that the disaster has displaced thousands, destroyed critical infrastructure, and eradicated the sole income sources for many households. The affected corridor matches the area where CORUS implemented recovery programs after the 2015 seismic event, but a stark reduction in the presence of international actors leaves communities vulnerable. "Our footage shows homes washed away, solar panels floating downstream, and families with no means of earning a living," she reported. The appeal calls on the global community to act decisively, urging India, the United States and other donor nations to send emergency relief kits, medical teams, and temporary shelters.
