Indian Air Force completes nine humanitarian sorties for Nepal

Since the monsoon deluge struck Nepal, the Indian Air Force has conducted nine special flights delivering relief material, rescue teams and technical experts. Each sortie has been timed to reach the most affected districts, often navigating difficult terrain and flooded valleys.

In addition to food, blankets and solar lanterns, the aircraft have dropped specialized equipment such as mud‑clearing tools, DNA collection kits and portable shelters. The repeated missions demonstrate the depth of logistical capability that India can mobilise in regional disasters.

Officials stress that the operations will continue until Nepal’s communities regain stability and can rebuild infrastructure damaged by the unprecedented water flow.
