Ideological Rift Between JCD and ISC Triggers Five‑Hour Fight at Begum Rokeya University

The first major clash of the day occurred on Monday evening at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur. The dispute originated over a banner titled “Judicial Killing” that displayed photographs of six Jamaat‑e‑Islami and BNP leaders accused of 1971 war‑crime atrocities. Members of JCD challenged the banner, sparking a five‑hour confrontation with ISC activists. Witnesses reported that combatants used sharpened weapons, hockey sticks, iron rods, bamboo sticks and helmets, bringing traffic to a standstill outside the campus.
