India Sends Forensic and Tunnel Rescue Teams to Support Nepal Flood Relief

Following the flood disaster, the Indian government dispatched a 19‑member forensic team to Kathmandu to assist Nepali officials in identifying flood victims through DNA sampling. Simultaneously, a specialised tunnel rescue unit was deployed to the Chilime and Langtang hydro‑power sites, where nearly 900 workers remain stranded underground. The rescue teams are working round the clock, using advanced equipment to clear debris and create safe passages. These efforts complement the broader Indian assistance mission, which includes medical supplies, temporary shelters and logistical support for ongoing search and rescue missions across the affected districts.
