India‑Singapore Foreign Office Consultation Marks 19th Session

The 19th India‑Singapore Foreign Office Consultation took place in New Delhi on 6 August 2026. The Indian side, headed by former External Affairs Secretary Rudraendra Tandon, and the Singaporean side, led by Permanent Secretary (Policy) Luke Goh, evaluated the implementation of the eight‑point Comprehensive Strategic Partnership agenda.

Discussions spanned economic ties, skill and talent development, digital economy, environmental sustainability, transport and connectivity, health and medical cooperation, cultural interactions, and defence and security cooperation. The ministerial round‑table under the ISMRS framework will continue to drive these initiatives.

Both delegations exchanged views on current regional and global developments, emphasizing the necessity of close coordination on ASEAN and other international platforms to address shared concerns.

The partnership was elevated to a comprehensive strategic level during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s September 2024 visit to Singapore and formalised with a roadmap when Singapore’s Prime Minister Lawrence Wong visited India in September 2025.

In New Delhi, Luke Goh met with Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, and Department of Legislation Secretary Rajiv Mani to deliberate on actionable measures and to assess the influence of worldwide events on bilateral cooperation.

The preceding FOC session, held in Singapore in March 2025, had examined cooperation across six strategic areas – digitalisation, skill development, sustainable development, health, advanced manufacturing, and connectivity – laying the groundwork for today's progress review.
