India, South Africa discuss long‑standing legislative collaboration

In a separate engagement on Tuesday, Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh met with Rifilwe Matsebe‑Tshipane, Chairperson of South Africa's National Council of Provinces. The dialogue underscored the deep and historic parliamentary relationship that exists between the two democracies.

The leaders reviewed past collaborative efforts, including joint committee visits and shared legislative research, and agreed to expand cooperation under the theme of the conference: “Strengthening International Law and Parliamentary Democracy in a Changing World Order”. The meeting reinforced India's commitment to working closely with South Africa on issues ranging from human rights to economic governance.
