India-Uzbekistan Friendship Marked by Modi's Visit to Yangi Uzbekistan Park

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Tashkent on August 29 featured a ceremonial wreath‑laying at the Yangi Uzbekistan Park, honoring Uzbekistan’s illustrious history and cultural pride.

The Indian foreign ministry highlighted the event on X, noting that it reflected the robust, long‑standing friendship between India and Uzbekistan.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev accompanied Modi, and the pair inspected exhibits that portray Uzbek civilization and historic milestones.

Earlier in the day, Modi thanked President Mirziyoyev for the heartfelt airport welcome, marking the commencement of a two‑day state visit.

In his social‑media post, Modi expressed appreciation for the President’s gracious reception, calling this his fourth trip to Uzbekistan and emphasizing the deepening bilateral rapport.

The agenda includes high‑level talks on shared development visions such as "Developed India 2047" and "Uzbekistan 2030".

Modi asserted that recent years have seen notable progress in the strategic partnership, aiming to expand cooperation in commerce, digital connectivity, defence, and energy sectors.
