Following improvements in Nepal’s law and order, the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu has issued an advisory urging Indian citizens to exercise caution while traveling to the country. The Embassy stated that the situation has significantly improved, with regular road transport and flights now operating. Indian nationals are advised to remain vigilant and adhere to any advisories or updates from the Embassy or local authorities. Recent developments in Nepal include the clearing of damaged vehicles from streets and parking areas, and the repainting of government buildings after last week’s violent protests. Cranes were used to remove charred vehicles from Singhadurbar, the administrative capital, which were then temporarily stored at the federal parliament premises. Authorities are cataloging the vehicles with registration numbers to facilitate insurance claims and assess the damage from the September 9 violence. A preliminary survey revealed approximately 700 vehicles were destroyed. Over 250 four-wheelers and more than 450 two-wheelers were rendered unusable by fire. At least 47 four-wheelers and 74 two-wheelers were damaged within the Prime Minister’s Office premises. The Prime Minister’s Office, the Home Ministry, and the Federal Parliament Secretariat suffered the most vehicle damage during the protests.
