Industrial Supply Chains Benefit from China's Growing Imports

At a Beijing press briefing, a senior commerce official explained that China’s expansive industrial base and its network of supporting sectors are delivering manufacturing equipment and other industrial products to partners worldwide. This assistance is especially valuable for developing nations seeking to upgrade their production capabilities and join global supply chains.

WTO data for the first quarter showed China added 2.1 percentage points to the overall increase in global trade, representing 20.3% of the total growth. The influx of high‑quality goods into China’s market is also reinforcing the stability of international industrial and supply‑chain operations.

From January to August, imports rose by 22%, the strongest pace since 2021. The ministry projects that the cumulative import value will set a new record by year‑end.
