Iran’s Finance Ministry Forms War‑Economy Response Unit

Amid heightened U.S. pressure and new sanctions imposed earlier this week, Iran announced the creation of an Economic War Task Force on September 6. The initiative, headed by Deputy Finance Minister Mortaza Jamaniyan, seeks to fast‑track solutions for businesses, trade networks and financing channels hit by wartime conditions.

The task force will initially operate within the Finance Ministry’s authority, guaranteeing rapid interventions for issues that fall inside its jurisdiction. When challenges exceed the ministry’s scope, the unit will draw on the national economic commission and the central economic headquarters to mediate between agencies and push decisions to the highest government tier.

Jamaniyan stressed that the force’s primary role is to identify war‑related economic bottlenecks at a central level and propose realistic fixes, ensuring coordinated action and preventing delays caused by inter‑agency red tape.
