Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has stated that President Donald Trump must alter his ‘disrespectful tone’ towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, if the United States desires a deal with Iran. Araghchi emphasized Iran’s strong aversion to threats and insults, warning that Iran would not hesitate to demonstrate its full capabilities. He referenced the historical resilience of Iranians, highlighting their ability to persevere. He further stated, ‘If President Trump is genuine about wanting a deal, he should put aside the disrespectful and unacceptable tone towards Iran’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and stop hurting his millions of heartfelt followers.’ This follows hints from the US regarding potential talks with Iran, despite prior military actions. The White House has indicated ongoing communication with Iranian officials through intermediaries, particularly Qatar, focusing on diplomacy and a non-enrichment civil nuclear program.
