Israel Expands Military Action to Southern Lebanon After Hezbollah Drone Threat

The Israeli military reported a fresh escalation on the southern Lebanon front after Hezbollah operatives attempted to launch two drones toward Israeli Defense Forces units stationed in the security zone. Israeli troops engaged the aerial threats, shooting down one drone and issuing warning fire. No Israeli soldiers were reported injured in the exchange.

In retaliation, the IDF announced a series of air raids against locations in southern Lebanon believed to house Hezbollah assets. The strikes were described as a direct response to the attempted drone attack and a measure to safeguard Israeli forces operating near the border.

The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health later confirmed that Israeli air strikes in the area resulted in four deaths and twenty injuries, further widening the humanitarian impact of the conflict.
