Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar criticized Iran’s ongoing pursuit of nuclear weapons on Thursday. He stated that despite joint efforts by Israel and the United States to curb Iran’s nuclear program, Tehran continues to strive towards acquiring a nuclear weapon. In response, Sa’ar declared that the E3’s move to initiate the return of UN sanctions on Iran is inevitable. The E3, or the “big three” of the European Union, comprises France, Germany, and Italy.
In a post on X, Sa’ar emphasized that this step would be crucial in countering the Iranian regime’s nuclear objectives. He wrote that even after a joint operation by Israel and the US against Iran’s nuclear program, Iran has not abandoned its ambition to obtain a nuclear weapon. This is why the E3’s move to initiate the return of UN sanctions on Iran is unavoidable, as it’s a crucial step in the diplomatic campaign to counter the Iranian regime’s nuclear ambitions.
