The Israeli navy intercepted a flotilla of boats carrying humanitarian aid intended for the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Activists on board were detained, including Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg. The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed the detentions. The flotilla represented the latest effort to breach Israel’s blockade of Gaza, which has suffered significant damage following almost two years of conflict. The Israeli Foreign Ministry reported on X that the boats belonging to the Hamas-Sumud flotilla were halted, and their passengers were being transported to an Israeli port. The ministry also stated that Greta Thunberg and her fellow travelers were in good health and safe.
