External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with US State Secretary Marco Rubio during the Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Washington. Discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral partnership between India and the US across several key areas including security, critical technologies, trade, connectivity, energy, and mobility. Jaishankar also engaged with his Australian counterpart, Penny Wong, on the sidelines of the summit, highlighting the strong strategic partnership between the two nations. Earlier, Jaishankar met with US Secretary of Defence Pete Hegseth at the Pentagon, where he emphasized the significant importance of the India-US defense relationship. Hegseth expressed enthusiasm for the growing defense partnership, highlighting the integration of US defense systems into India’s armed forces and the goal of expanding industrial cooperation and co-production networks.
