Jordan Defends Air Defenses After Intercepting Majority of Iranian Missiles

Jordanian defense officials announced on Wednesday that its integrated air‑defense network successfully engaged and destroyed 18 out of 20 ballistic missiles launched from Iran toward the Al‑Azraq air base. The intercepted missiles were tracked and shot down by Jordan's Patriot and HAWK systems, preventing any damage to the American aircraft stationed there.

The remaining two projectiles landed in remote desert zones, where they caused no civilian casualties or infrastructure harm. The Jordanian military praised the readiness of its air‑defense units and called the incident a clear demonstration of regional security cooperation.

The IRGC described the operation as part of a broader retaliation against U.S. strikes on vessels it claims are Iranian‑owned oil tankers, emphasizing the strategic message behind the missile launch.
