Kim Jong Un’s family tree remains opaque, but intelligence points to multiple children

North Korea’s ruling Kim dynasty has long kept personal details under strict secrecy. While state media has occasionally referred to Kim Ju-ae as a "beloved child" and a "great guide," the exact number of Kim Jong Un’s offspring has never been officially confirmed. South Korean intelligence now believes the leader has at least three children, including the teenage daughter who first appeared in public during an intercontinental ballistic missile test in November 2022, as well as one or more younger siblings whose identities remain hidden.
