Lebanon President Highlights Gains After Rome Border Talks

During a cabinet meeting on Friday, President Joseph Aoun reported that the recent diplomatic session in Rome brought forward tangible improvements regarding the Lebanon‑Israel frontier and the repatriation of detainees. The agenda included a cease‑fire agreement, demolition of illegal structures, deployment of bulldozers, clarification of the border line, and the mapping of pilot zones. Aoun praised the "positive momentum" on these matters and anticipated swift implementation of agreed actions. He also said the U.S. administration will assist in settling the remaining cease‑fire and pilot‑zone issues, with General Joseph Clarke slated to arrive in Beirut shortly for further discussions.
