Beirut, May 17. Senior officials in Lebanon have detailed a mounting economic crisis, estimating losses at two billion dollars due to recent Israeli strikes. Economy Minister Amer Bisat told reporters that the impact spans across multiple industries, including hospitality and manufacturing. The loss of seven percent of the GDP is a significant setback for a country already facing financial instability. In southern Lebanon, the destruction of infrastructure and the displacement of workers have halted all productive activity. Bisat noted that investors are increasingly hesitant to commit capital to the region, further complicating recovery efforts. The minister called for urgent diplomatic intervention to prevent a total economic collapse and to protect the livelihoods of millions of Lebanese citizens.
