From Lithuania to Addis Ababa: Devesh Uttam's Next Assignment

Having served as Ambassador to the Baltic nation of Lithuania, Devesh Uttam is set to relocate to Addis Ababa as India's new ambassador to Ethiopia. A veteran of the Indian Foreign Service since 2003, Uttam brings extensive experience from postings in Tehran, New York, Tripoli, and Damascus, as well as senior roles within the Ministry of External Affairs, including head of the Consular, Passport and Visa division. His academic background includes a master's degree and MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University, focusing on the European Union's eastern enlargement.
