A rescue helicopter, an MI-17, involved in flood relief operations in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir, crashed. The accident resulted in the deaths of five individuals. The helicopter was operating in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which has been severely impacted by heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding. The crash occurred in the Mohmand district’s Pandiali area due to adverse weather conditions. The aircraft was carrying relief supplies to the flood-affected areas of Bajaur. The crash claimed the lives of the five crew members, including two pilots. Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the crash, whether solely weather-related or involving other factors. Rescue teams have been dispatched to the crash site. The region has seen significant devastation due to heavy monsoon rains, including landslides and flash floods.
