Military’s Expanded Role Fuels Political Tension Ahead of PTI Rally

Under the tenure of Army Chief Asim Munir, Pakistan has witnessed a series of structural changes that have bolstered the armed forces’ influence over state affairs. In May 2025, Munir was promoted to field marshal, a rank previously held by only one other officer.
