Elon Musk, the billionaire, removed a tweet referencing former U.S. President Donald Trump in connection to the Epstein files. The decision followed a public exchange of criticism between Musk and Trump, sparked by Musk’s claims regarding the delayed release of the Epstein files, allegedly due to Trump’s inclusion.
Musk had recently resigned from his role as a special government employee within the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), citing a desire to focus on his business ventures. Reports indicate Musk’s displeasure with Trump’s proposed ‘Big Beautiful Bill’ as a key factor in the dispute.
Musk’s now-deleted tweet on X stated, “Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public. Have a nice day, DJT!” Later, responding to a post by fund manager Bill Ackman advocating for peace between the two, Musk signaled a potential truce, stating, “You’s are not wrong.”
The disagreement between the two prominent figures occurred during a critical time for Trump’s legislative agenda, which includes substantial tax cuts and increased military spending. The online spat escalated with sharp criticisms and accusations exchanged on social media platforms, culminating in Musk’s explosive allegations.
U.S. Vice President JD Vance voiced his support for Trump during the unfolding conflict, affirming his trust in the former president.
