Tesla CEO Elon Musk has publicly apologized for his recent statements concerning former United States President Donald Trump. In a post on X, Musk acknowledged that his remarks were excessive. The comments sparked speculation about the status of the relationship between Trump and Musk, especially given their previous association. This speculation was later confirmed by Trump himself.
Musk’s post on X stated, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”
The online disagreement between Trump and Musk intensified, with Trump stating he did not intend to reconcile with Musk. Trump suggested that Musk, a former campaign supporter, could face ‘serious consequences’ if he supported the Democrats in the upcoming elections.
During an interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, when asked if his relationship with Tesla CEO Musk was over, Trump responded, “I would assume so, yeah.” He stated he did not plan to repair their relationship.
Trump said, “I’m too busy doing other things…I gave him a lot of breaks, long before this happened, I gave him breaks in my first administration, and saved his life in my first administration, I have no intention of speaking to him.”
The dispute between Trump and Musk arose after Musk criticized Trump’s spending policies. Musk warned that the bill would “massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to USD 2.5 trillion”, suggesting “Congress is making America bankrupt.” Musk described the bill as a “disgusting abomination.”
