During violent protests in Nepal, a coup took place. Protesters stormed the parliament. KP Sharma Oli was forced to flee his residence and resign from the position of Prime Minister. Following this, the public was eager to know where KP Sharma Oli had gone. He was given refuge by the army. He spent nine days under the protection of the army, after which he moved from the army barracks to a private location. After his resignation as PM, Sushila Karki was appointed as the new Prime Minister of Nepal. According to media reports, the army barracks was located in the Shivapuri forest area, north of Kathmandu, where KP Oli was kept. However, the information about his current residence has not been made public. Reports claim that KP Oli has moved to a private house in the Gundoo area of Bhaktapur district, 15 kilometers east of Kathmandu.
KP Oli resigned from the post of Prime Minister on September 9 during the Gen-Z protests. Protesters set fire to his residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur. At that time, he was at the official residence of the Prime Minister. However, seeing the protests turn violent, he left the PM’s residence via an army helicopter to a safe place. Apart from KP Oli, former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Jhalanath Khanal, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and some other senior political leaders also remained under army protection for a few days.
